At Volvo CE, the need for a true digital thread between product development and manufacturing has become increasingly critical. As product complexity grows and more functions depend on the same product data, we have focused on building a PLM landscape where structure, execution, and integration work together as one coherent flow.
This presentation describes how MPM functions as the operational core of Volvo’s digital thread, connecting design with manufacturing and SAP. Upper product structures are defined using CPC Methodology enable multiple, consistent views of product data, while MPM supports day‑to‑day work and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing. This setup enables reliable integration to SAP, supporting downstream manufacturing and business processes.
